(October 8th, 2008) -- Tyler had 3 weeks to reflect on the racing during the Florida Winter Tour in Ocala. Coming back to this facility Tyler had higher expectations even though he knew the competition level would be higher at this Stars event. Tyler was running in the top 15 range during practice on Friday. Tyler was not to happy with his practice performance but he knew we had another engine package and made a few changes on the chassis for Saturday. The Stars format is qualifying 1 time which setts the starting grid for 3 heat races where you start from the same qual. Position in each heat. Tyler would qualify 15 th which was on track with his practice efforts. His heat race finishes were ht1- 12 th, ht2- 9 th, ht3- 8 th. This would ultimately set Tyler starting 9 th on the grid for each of the 2 finals on Sunday.

Sunday’s weather was going to play a huge factor in the main events for the day. With clouds moving in and out all morning the first final ran complete with just very light sprinkles. Tyler would finish 11 th after a lesson or two from some of the more experienced drivers which is just what Tyler needed. The second final about ½ hour before the race the rain came in and poured the rest of the afternoon. Changing everything that we could in the time we had available with the help of Chris Weirheim (the rain master) Tyler started 9 th on the grid and would soon start moving through the field with ease. By the half way mark Tyler was running second and gaining on the leader. The race would finish with Tyler 1 second behind the leader and 2 secondes in front of the 07 JICA Stars champion. Tyler was matching the leader Tyler would run a fast lap then the leader would match it for the last 4 or 5 laps. Tyler was very happy to finish 2 nd in his first Stars weekend event running JICA and to make it even sweeter it was in the rain against past champions and very well seasoned competition. Tylers next event will be in SaltLake City Utah @ Miller Motorsports Complex where he won his first stars even in 07 in Cadet category.
