(October 3rd, 2007) -- With no championship battles to worry about, Tyler had no pressure going into the event at this awesome facility. Tyler was one of the quickest in both classes on Friday practice, Yamaha jr Sportsman and Cadet jr Sportsman. Saturday Tyler timed in 3rd in Yamaha and with a carburetor issue he timed in 12th in cadet. Tyler ran 7th in the Yamaha prefinal with the chassis setup a little behind the track at the time. Cadet Tyler corked his way up to 6th from 12th even though there was an issue with the carb settings. The final in Yamaha, we changed everything but the driver and the motor on the chassis even a different clutch. Within a lap Tyler was in second place and a very comfortable spot waiting for the final lap, with 2 to go 3rd and 4th caught the leaders and mixed things up a little earlier then Tyler needed. Tyler was forced to hang a wheel a little on the white flag lap and had to settle for 4th at the line. Cadet looked to be a great opportunity for Tyler to take his TopKart to the front but early contact on the start going into turn 2 cut the valve stem out of the right rear wheel and ended Tyler's day before making it through turn 4.

Sunday was a very long day only racing one class Cadet jr sportsman 2. Tyler timed in 6th and with carburetor issues finished 8th. After making a lot of adjustments to the carb Tyler went straight to the front within 2 laps was running a very comfortable second. With 2 to go the leader was running his normal defensive lines and looking over his shoulder and other moves that Tyler is very familiar with, Tyler passed him in a tight part of the track setting himself up for what he knew was coming from the other driver on the last straight as the pair came out of the turn coming onto the long back straight Tyler had the inside and the other driver had a good run on the outside it was a classic drag race down the last straight with Tyler on the inside to the middle of the track trying to ease his way to a better entry to the last turn, the other driver turning into the side of Tyler 3 or 4 times and all the way around the last turn with Tyler taking the win!!

After another long awaited decision from the same race director, the race director gathered both drivers and fathers together for a talk. After telling both drivers how great they are and that no one was in trouble for anything and only asking Tyler two direct questions, Did you move over on the track and do you think that would be considered a blocking move? Not asking the other driver any questions at all Tyler 11 years old not experienced at all in these situations and he never has been a man of very many words the race director vaguely got an answer that he could run with and made his decision there and on the spot without listening to the many many witnesses that took time out of their day to voice their eye witness account of the final lap from the newly built suite at the end of the back straight which was a much better view than the race director had from the side while he was standing in the infield by the flag man made the decision to take another national win away from Tyler and gave the win to the second place driver.

Tyler Thomas Motorsports would like to thank all of the many many people that supported Tyler after the race and e-mailed and called to express their feelings on the events that took place and a special thanks to Mark Dismore and all of his crew for their very vocal disappointment on the official decision and We hope that WKA can return to the greatest facility in the country next year.

Karting has been a wonderful thing for my family for almost 30 years I have raced karts and now I spend endless hours with my children at home in our shop working on karts for hours and hours, 5 to 6 days a week and I have had the pleasure of seeing my children growing up with goals in mind and with the true honesty and integrity that lots of people 2 and 3 times their age don’t have. I am going to say that after taking 2 wins away from Tyler it has only made him stronger and more determined to work hard to win. As soon as we returned home from these races he unloads the trailer and he works on his own kart to get it ready for the next race with the usual advise from me. I think that is very special time spent to learn all there is to know about karting and driving and being a true racer. We are going to focus on the Stars Finally in Las Vegas and Tyler still has an outside chance of winning the overall Stars Championship he will be testing for the next 2 weeks in preparation to do the best he can and represent all of his sponsors in an honest and sportsmanlike manner sometimes that honesty and integrity is more important than another empty meaningless page in his resume.

Tyler would like to thank all of his partners- Misi, Ribtec, B.T.Machine, inc, Woltjer Race Engines, Remington Investigations, Fleming race engines, Grand Products inc. Walters Web Design, Citizens Security Bank.
