(August 11th, 2006) -- Tyler had yet another successful weekend at his first ever road race national championship. After a short week from the Anthony KART Regional race Tyler made the trip to Topeka, Kansas for his first ever road race. Most all of the competition were competitors that Tyler runs with on a regular basis in the sprint series.

The first race of the weekend Tag Cadet Light was a very close battle with Pierce Baldus and Tyler had a plan for a last lap charge for the lead which was successful for a short time as he pulled out of the draft just a little to soon and Pierce did a great job of catching the draft and making the pass at the line by .007 sec. what a race! Congratulations Pierce !!

The second class of the first day of racing was Jr. 1 medium Tyler was one of the front runners in this class as well. With the same game plan in the sit up classes no matter how fast you are the draft keeps everyone in the race until the end. Trailing the leader until the last half of the front straight Tyler successfully made a charge to the front and at the line took the win by .022 over Wyatt Maness.

Sunday would bring more good fortune for Tyler by winning the Tag Cadet Heavy class by .225 seconds over Pierce Baldus. And in Jr. 1 heavy had a tough 3 car battle for the lead with the competition falling into Tyler's plan from the day before until Wyatt Maness spun with a half of a lap to go with Tyler running second as Wyatt spun it scattered the group of 3 with Pierce taking over the lead and Tyler falling back into second where he preferred to be on the last lap before the last straight anyway. With Wyatt out of the picture the battle was between Pierce and Tyler with Tyler pulling off another victory at the line by just fractions of a second.

With 3 out of 4 victories it was a very successful weekend and the guys that put on the show from KART had an excellent awards ceremony with champagne for all of the drivers who made the podium. Bernie Baldus was an excellent host at the ceremony with all of the food and beverages you could take in. It was one of the best awards ceremonies that we have been to and it was a lot of fun .
