(July 14th, 2006) -- Tyler had a monumental weekend at the KART Sprint National Championships the team has been testing all year during every open weekend and lots of weeknights to gear up for this event at their home track. Tyler did not disappoint with his flawless performance. Tyler set fast time in all five classes that he ran Jr 1 light , medium , heavy as well as Tag Cadet light and heavy. He won 4 of the 5 pre finals. The pre final that he did not win was in tag cadet. After a long wait on the grid waiting to pull onto the track the engine was getting hot and we were told to kill the engines. Once we were told that the track was clear Tyler’s engine did not start with the on board starter so we used our external started and that forced Tyler to start the pre final for the back of the grid. Once the race started Tyler was the only driver to advance as many positions as he made his way up to 3rd by the end of the 8 lap pre final passing on an average of 2 karts per lap to finish 3rd. That was very exiting to see from the fence where Tyler had a line of people cheering for him on the mission that he was on to get to the front.

In the final Tyler pushed his teammate Pierce Baldus who was on the pole into turn 1 and a few laps later made a good pass on Pierce to take the lead and never looked back to take the Win. Tyler won all 5 finals for the National Championship weekend and was awarded the coveted TRIAD. They are sure that that is a milestone that has never been accomplished. The team is very proud to be a part of the KART Nationals and even more proud of the performance and the outstanding efforts of the Tulsa Kart Club Members to have no track 1 year ago and to build such a facility and to get organized in such a short amount of time. And thanks to the staff of Roger Hatcher that he brought to the event to do the best job that they could do with some of the unforeseen circumstances that they had to deal with. Thank you all!!
