(May 25th, 2006) -- What a beautiful weekend for racing! This track has turned out to be one of our favorite tracks on the Mid America Sprint Series schedule at the lake with shade trees covering almost the whole pit and spectator area and a really cool track as well.

During Saturday practice Tyler had been one of the quickest all day in the Jr. 1 Yamaha class that he mainly runs in this series. The team had spent most of the day tuning the chassis and at the end of the practice day they had some last minute engine testing to do for preparation for Sunday’s race which went very well.

Sunday the weather was a photocopy of the day before perfect!!! Tyler used the first session to scuff in the new vega tires that the team mounted the night before. Tyler sat out session #2. The last practice of race day Tyler laid down 2 laps in a row under the track record that he had set last fall at a 33.63. Tyler sat on the pole with a new track record of 33.51 in qualifying.

In the prefinal Tyler was setting a pace that was awesome to watch running all but 2 or 3 laps of the prefinal at a track record pace. The final was pretty much a copy of the prefinal. Early in the race Tyler was setting the same blistering pace that he had in the prefinal until about half way through and he pulled out to a good lead and backed his pace down. He drove more conservative looking ahead to the finish. This win also put Tyler in the lead for the points race for the VEGA Cup that Grand Prix Distributing has added to their sponsorship of the MASS series which the team is very thankful for.
