(February 19th, 2006) -- The weekend started out very impressive for Tyler for his 2nd ever STARS event. Friday practice, round 1 timed practice, Tyler would rise to the top of the time speed charts running a fastest lap time of 54.076 with 2nd Gabreal Chaves at a time of 54.283. The round 2 of timed practice day would be rain soaked and Tyler would fall to 10th in the running order with his very limited experience in the wet conditions.

Starting 15th in his pre-final, by lap 2 he worked his way into the 6th position and with a spin in turn 1 he would high center the kart and kill the engine. As a result Tyler would be forced to start last in the B feature on Sunday. Tyler was running more conservative to make sure to finish in the top 6 to make the main event. After starting 15th, Tyler would drive to the front and finish in the 5th position to give the pilot of the 03 Cadet Kart a spot in the main event.

Sunday’s main event would be tough to get to the front from his 31st place starting position. Tyler showing patience and skill (working with Nick Neri #17 who also ran the B feature along with Tyler) worked his way to 14th position before getting tangled with 2 other karts at the end of the front straight and getting behind some 15 kart lengths. He would then gather it back up and catch the tail end of the 4th thru 14th pack for the second time with a few laps to go. He made some good passes and finish 13th overall. Tyler was disappointed that the rain set in but it was very good experience for him in wet conditions against the best in the country!
