(January 2nd, 2007) -- On a last minute decision we decided to head to Norman for the final time to race this year. After hearing that some of the Stars regulars would be there tuning up for the first Stars of Karting Series race at Norman next year. We decided we should be there to play too. Saturday’s race would be very exiting with Grant Vogel, Tyler, Mason Chalootze, Austin Self, Brock Yocum and Cody Humphries all racing close with Tyler running another new Top Kart chassis furnished by Grand Products, Tyler would time in 4th with no drafting help it sure is tough to qualify good. While leading the prefinal going away Tyler’s elbow hit the engine kill switch and cut he race short which put him starting last in the final.

The final was very exiting with Tyler making his way to the front after a few laps and then went on to battle for the win with Grant Vogel with the 2 drivers battling back and forth for most of the race Grant drafted by Tyler at the line and we had to wait for scoring to tell us that Tyler had finished second by .002 sec.

Sunday was more of the same with Tyler running a different Top Kart from the day before he timed in on the pole finished first in prefinal and started on the pole for the final. On the start Tyler would get shuffled back several spots and within 2 or 3 laps, he had worked his way back to the front. With Grant making a mistake in turn 1 Tyler had Mason Chalootze to battle with, after a few laps Tyler’s kart seemed to come in and started pulling away from the field. He would pull off the win for the day. Grant Vogel worked his way back to 2nd and Mason finished 3rd. We had a great time and congrats to Grant for his win on Saturday.

Tyler Thomas Motorsports would like to thank all there sponsors for the help to both the team and racing in general. Those include; MiSi , Grand Products , OVRP Racing , B.T.Machine , Walters Web Design , On Track Promotions , and Remington Investigations.
