(January 2nd, 2007) -- Tyler has been working all year towards winning the inaugural " VEGA CUP " and this would be the last race in the MASS Series and race for the VEGA CUP. Saturday was clear and beautiful, perfect weather for racing. Tyler would seem to be the one setting the pace in practice. We were trying to get the chassis dialed back in after the crash at New Castle and it was a new chassis that Tyler’s Sponsor Grand Products had furnished him before The Tag World Championships. So the new chassis was different set up's than anything that we were used to but the new Top Kart seems to be very easy to tune. We were also testing s 3 different engine packages for Jim Stroud with MiSi which seemed like Tyler had a lot going on in the test department. For the last practice of the day Tyler was turning times equal to the track record that he set at the KART Sprint Nationals earlier in the year and the chassis still had some speed left in it. Tyler was really looking forward to racing the next day.

Sunday brought lots of changes for everyone with a light rain most all night and all day that made for lots of adjustment on the chassis and the drivers to learn to negotiate the track in the rain that no one had ever run on in the rain. Tyler set fast time, won the prefinal, and won the final which made for a sweep of the KART MASS Series and locked him in as the winner of the VEGA CUP.
